Ehlenberger's sculpture has been strongly influenced by his appreciation for the sculpture of the Constructivist art movement of the early 1900's. Popularized by sculptors such as Naum Gabo and Vladmir Tatlin, Constructivist sculpture is characterized by its focus on geometric shapes with simple curves and linearity. It is generally abstract with an industrial quality and often incorporates industrial materials such as metal, wood, and glass.

Ehlenberger's personal approach to Constructivist sculpture is to add the element of light as a focal point of the sculpture, emphasizing the relationship between the shapes and forms of the sculpture. Over the years, he has produced a large volume of works based in a Constructivist style as illustrated on these pages.
