A surreal diorama, "Threshold I" portrays a lifesize human figure climbing toward (or away from?) a doorway suspended high in the tree. The viewer's only clue as to what lies behind the door is the rush of pure white light emanating through the small gap of the slightly ajar door. As the title suggests, the piece is about change and portrays the human condition of mankind driven by the mystery of the unknown.
